FSL (free-standing lace) is not stitched onto fabric, but rather onto a water-soluble stabilizer, which when washed away leaves behind a lovely lace piece.
Do not rinse the stabilizer for a long time, the embroidered item must be strong. Or you can use Organza for embroidering.
